Part 1 --- The Lord is My Shepherd (Jehovah-Rohi)



Psalm 23 --- One of the most well-known passage of scriptures which is often referenced in times of distress to provide a person a measure of comfort and assurance. It's time for deeper reflection on what this passage really is conveying about the relationship between God and Man.

"The Lord is my shepherd."

Significant Points

Implies an existence of a relationship.


Shepherd as owner or manger
Shepherd's characteristics: gentle, kind, intelligent, brave, and selfless.
Shepherd's care produces sheep who flourish and thrive contentedly.


Hireling's care produces sheep who struggle, starve, and suffer endless hardship.


Sheep require, more than other class of livestock, endless attention and meticulous care.
Sheep has mass mind (mob instincts).
Sheep's characteristics: fears and timidity.
